[...] For the first time they arranged the “Concerto in re maggiore” by Antonio Vivaldi for cello and guitar. Amorous flirtations unfold, lust hunts break off the fence, and you are gently touched by a gentle south wind. Sometimes graceful, sometimes bubbling, the listener is carried away by an intoxicating life energy, after the vital storm glides again on calm swings. After such an inspired and lively baroque comedy series, the hour of sensitive-romantic, touching-beautiful timbres strikes with an Irish ballad by the poet and singer Thomas Moore. [...] But the duo with “Cavalli selvaggi” is already letting wild horses rush into the sky and chase through the air. At first light and weightless, then more and more powerful and inspiring. At the finale of this folkloristic-impressionistic composition by Roberto Legnani, the hooves and tails of the animals seem to literally catch fire with lashing energy. [...] With the nine Neginot from “Bamidbar”, the cellist and the guitarist weave a loose sound carpet from atmospheric mood images. In this sonic poem, a shimmering, trance-like weaving of sound is combined with thirsty, pleading melodies and a ravishing, feverish rhythm. Sometimes lament and pain, sometimes hope and ecstasy, this clay painting by Roberto Legnani tells of the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and their restless wandering through the Sinai desert. […] Spanish rhythms and Andalusian folk music, on the other hand, shape works by Isaac Albéniz and Manuel de Falla. In the shimmering embers of the south, distinctive, passionate flamenco rhythms of the Gitanos mix with elegiac forms of longing that are beautiful to die for. [...] The formidable duo also knows how to use smart onomatopoeia, snippy, turbulent sound and a tasty, chanson-like swing. In Legnani's “Le chat de Paris”, the two let a cat roam the streets and alleys of Paris. The way the two virtuosos work expressively and devotedly on the strings and the body of their instruments is truly masterful.
