Classical and world music for cello and guitar
Ariana Burstein & Roberto Legnani celebrated their 20th stage anniversary as a duo in 2016. Thanks to the two protagonists, the unusually distinctive combination of cello and guitar has continuously and formatively established itself in concert life over a period of 22 years. Through their creative work, Burstein & Legnani have created a completely new repertoire for cello and guitar.
Undeterred, far from changing fashion and fleeting zeitgeist, the duo arranged new works for the annual tours. The repertoire for cello and guitar grew from year to year, including over 200 arrangements of classical masterpieces as well as numerous compositions by Roberto Legnani. New compositions emerged from collected themes, fragments and melodies from different peoples, which the duo simply presents as world music in their concerts.
In a harmonious dialogue with cultures, the different epochs and genres merge and lead the audience into a magical world of sounds. Passionate melodies, pulsating rhythms and old style elements resound in an artistically new guise - music from the Moorish Middle Ages, leading into the 21st century, with flowing borders between occidental, oriental, Asian and Jewish culture.

Violoncello
In Buenos Aires geboren, studierte Cello in Argentinien, Uruguay und Israel. Mehrere Stipendien, u. a. durch die Amerika-Israel Gesellschaft für junge Künstler. Teilnahme an Meisterkursen bei Pierre Fournier, Leonard Rose und Arto Noras. Von 1973 bis 1978 Mitglied des Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra als Solistin. Seit 1978 lebt sie in Deutschland. 1978–1980 Solocellistin beim Städtischen Orchester Bremerhaven. Rundfunk- und Fernsehaufnahmen: ARD, ZDF, SWR, SR, HR, SDR. Mitwirkung im „Ensemble 13“, Baden-Baden, dabei mehrere Produktionen für die ARD. Mitherausgeberin von Werken für Violoncello und Gitarre für den Musikverlag F. Hofmeister in Leipzig. CD-Einspielungen bei ELEG. Konzertreisen durch Europa, Israel, Südamerika.
Roberto Legnani
Gitarre, Alt-Flöte, Duduk, Oud, Koto und Shofar
Studium an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und an der Universität in Freiburg. Gefördert durch Stipendien, u. a. durch die Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg. Lehraufträge im In- und Ausland, so als Gastdozent für Gitarrenseminare an der University of Minnesota, Minneapolis (USA), und in Seoul, Cheju und Pohang (Südkorea). Von 1985 bis 1996 Lehraufträge an der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Schallplatten und CDs bei Daedo, ELEG, solistisch und im Ensemble. Veröffentlichungen von Notentextausgaben bei BMG Ricordi (Mailand), Edizioni Zanibon (Padua), Musikverlag Zimmermann (Frankfurt) und Musikverlag F. Hofmeister (Leipzig). Rundfunk- und Fernsehaufnahmen für SWR, SDR, BR, WDR, ZDF (Deutschland), RTR (Italien), CBS (USA). Kompositions- und Arrangementaufträge für SWR und WDR. Filmmusik für Radio Televisione Regionale Veneta in Padua. Konzertreisen durch Europa, Israel, USA und Südkorea. Gemeinsame Konzerte, Rundfunk- und Fernsehaufnahmen u. a. mit dem Gitarristen Siegfried Behrend und der Sängerin Belina.
