[...] It was an exquisite, brilliantly played concert, which Ariana Burstein on cello and Roberto Legnani on guitar gave on Wednesday in the well-attended Haslach library. The high-contrast selection of the pieces was also extremely successful. Expressive and evocative of continuity, the cello, rhythmically lively and with lyrical inserts the guitar. [...] With Antonio Vivaldi's three movements of his “Concerto in re maggiore”, the two musicians represented an entire orchestra - a role that they apparently played playfully on their finely tuned instruments with fascinating dexterity. read more >>>

[…] Tir Na Nóg promises eternal youth in Celtic-Irish mythology. The two pieces that the extraordinary duo dedicates to this location sound as promising as this promise. Sometimes the musicians unleash a little firework of lashing, spirited dynamics, sometimes they indulge in Elysian sounds full of tender, bitter and intimate sweetness. Whether an airy pearl, a rich vibration, a fiery pulsation or a melodious indulgence: from the otherworld of Tir Na Nóg a mysterious, seductive magic sound wafts towards you. The disenchanted, modern world is enchanted again by the visionary power and magic of music. read more >>>

Elegant sounds full of melancholy and melancholy that breathe an energetic expressivity and yet at the same time appear extremely soft and tender. […] Burstein's long sustained cello tones contrast beautifully with Legnani's virtuoso, silvery-glittering guitar sounds. [...] Special highlights of the overall very touching concert, with which the musicians will be touring all over Germany over the next few months, are Legnani's own compositions. With “Bamidbar” (Hebrew “In the desert”) the internationally known artist sets the 42 desert walks and The camps of the Israelites after they left Egypt. In his solo performance, he lets a haunting rhythm grow into Arabic-like sounds in a soft minor. His stylistic change between his virtuoso fingerpicking and velvety arpeggios is impressive. Finally, Burstein's cello joins them and creates impressive sound effects with a bow that is only half attached. […] Read more >>>

[…] Burstein sometimes makes her instrument sound like a stalk that is bent by the breeze, then she processes it again as if she wanted to submit an application to the heavy metal formation Apocalyptica. Quite often, however, the noble wood sounds wonderfully dark, warm and sonorous. Legnani's guitar feels right at home in various registers, imitates other instruments and timbres as if it were the most natural thing in the world. [...] Whether Andalusian flamenco, fiery tango, strange sounds from the Far East, Eastern European melancholy or oriental flair, the duo always manages to hit the right note.

The Valentine's Concert in the former synagogue in Ahrweiler was an impressive declaration of love for classical and contemporary world music. With Ariana Burstein (cello) and Roberto Legnani (guitar) a well-rehearsed musician duo was guests from all over the world. Her own and foreign compositions, modern and classical works, local and foreign sounds are part of her concert program this year. Simply dubbed “world music” by the speakers, it was more likely a music of the world, performed by exceptional artists in their discipline. [...]
